Official Community Plan Policies Supporting Climate Resilience: A Resource Guide for Communities in the Canadian Columbia Basin
2015 – Columbia Basin Trust
Leading-edge examples of Official Community Plan (OCP) policies supporting climate resilience are now available in a new resource guide for Basin communities. Using an easy-to-read format, the guide follows the general structure of an OCP, presenting general examples of climate-resilient OCP provisions and specific provisions that have already been adopted by local governments in the Basin or beyond.
The roles of Development Permit Areas and Development Approval Information Areas are also addressed, along with listings of helpful resources and links to relevant OCPs. The guide was prepared by experts in climate adaptation, land use planning, municipal law and civil engineering, with guidance from a 17 member advisor group.
