This resource is intended to address the barriers preventing local governments from taking action to support climate change adaptation in a way that centers equity and community engagement. This resource aims to create both a case for this approach as well as offer tangible, actionable ideas and tools for partners in local government.

The three goals of this resource are to:

• Understand and address primary barriers preventing municipalities from centering equity and engagement in climate change adaptation.
• Provide replicable and inspiring case studies of local governments and partnerships that have had relevant success.
• Highlight tangible and applicable tools for centering equity and engagement in adaptation efforts.
