Climate Resilient Home

2021 – All One Sky Foundation

The Climate Resilient Home is an online tool that helps Canadian municipalities break down homes into their essential parts and identify how new construction or retrofit projects can make buildings more resilient to wildfire, floods, extreme weather and a changing environment.

Municipalities can use this website to inform design recommendations for new residential construction and retrofitting existing homes.

The Climate Resilient Home tool can:

  • Help communicate to homeowners what they can do to make their homes more resilient to climate impacts
  • Inform developers and the construction sector of ways to improve value
  • Inform development standards or requirements
  • Allow homeowners to initiate conversations with their insurance provider
