Climate Projections for the Cowichan Valley Regional District

2017 – Cowichan Valley Regional District

The first step towards adaptation planning is understanding what changes are projected for a region. To support this, the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium (PCIC) has worked with the CVRD and a multi-stakeholder team to produce high-resolution regional projections to understand how the climate in the Cowichan Valley region may change by the 2050s and 2080s. This report presents information on temperature, precipitation, and related extreme indicators that, taken together, tell a story of how their climate is expected to change over time. High-level comments on the possible impacts of these changes are also presented as a first step in working collaboratively as a region to understand and prepare for the changes ahead.
