Environment and Climate Change Canada
ClimateData.ca is a climate information portal that enables Canadians to access, visualize, and analyze climate data, and provides related information and tools to support adaptation planning and decision-making. This online tool is part of a continuum of existing climate data portals and platforms developed in Canada, which collaboratively disseminate climate information targeting different audiences. All results displayed from the time-series and maps are from an ensemble of 24 climate models. Each climate model simulates the climate for the historical period, 1950-2005, and for plausible futures, 2006-2100, in response to three emissions scenarios representing different atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases (RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5).
In early 2023, all of the data and maps were updated with new climate model data. The latest phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP6) has been added to ClimateData.ca. The CMIP6 data is the most up-to-date global climate model data available and is included in the IPCC’s 6th Assessment Reports.
